I've just returned from a quick trip to the US to sort out a few things. I did a stop by Kiwi Shipping/Mainfreight HQ and looked at the new shipping facility they will be using in the next few weeks. Trust me, if you're planning on shipping a vehicle or items back from the US then Steve Curle and his team are the people to call. An amazing facility which is just perfect for loading containers. I met all the team and what a great bunch of people.

Americarna Invercargill got underway with Registration opening at the Bill Richardson Truck museum at 10:00am, Wednesday 23rd March. The morning saw a number of local entrants come to collect their event info. When the out of town 'convoyers' arrived around lunch time, it was all on and the next few hours were crazy while we pumped out Registration folders............

Christchurch Earthquake Appeal

Since the February 22nd earthquake in Christchurch Americarna has been collecting donations from our supporters for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal. The Last Week! And what a week its going to be. Car left C & M Performance late last Friday back to Engine Dynamics to allow Craig the weekend to fit the coated exhaust and finish off tasks.

Another challenging week for Engine Dynamics! Well the motor is now in the car as the photo shows. The exhaust system that Hoggy has built looks unreal. I had the opportunity to look at the car Wednesday afternoon when I was in Auckland.

The car has been in Auckland for three weeks now. Ron from Custom Autoglass has fitted the new windscreen which included painting a special sealer around where the screen fits to insure rust won't become a problem. Ron reported once he removed the screen there was no sign of rust which pleased me .... you never know with these old cars.

Well, another productive week, thanks to Tony Etheridge of Total Paints (email - tony@totalpaints.co.nz) who with the New Zealand agent for Dynamat has helped with the insulation. This is now fitted as per the photo. Next week we will do the roof.

What a busy week! Last Thursday night there were long plastic drop sheets everywhere in the workshop and the engine bay was primed. Friday night at 6.00pm the engine bay was sanded (by Andrew), Fish n Chips for tea, then paitning, not finishing up until 11.30pm. Saturday.........

I have just returned from Pleasanton where I attended the GoodGuys May event. It was a good car show with one area dedicated to cars for sale. There must have been 150 plus for sale. Anyway we bought one, a 1971 Mustang Convertible which will be our giveaway car for our 2010 event....
