Now that Americarna 2009 is behind us and before we get too far into planning the 2010 event, its time to get the August Tour to Pleasanton USA for GoodGuys Hot Rod Week, organised. We have 40 rooms booked at our Hotel and 80 seats booked for the flights......

Itinerary as Follows:

Sunday August 16th:

Depart Auckland for San Francisco at 7.30pm (we will be in Auckland to meet all travelling).  Flights from outside of Auckland are at an additional cost.
Arrive Sunday August 16th 12.45pm, where a luxury coach will be waiting for us for the approximate one hour trip to the Hotel.  Once checked in we will assist in taking you to your rooms.  Once settled, its time to relax by the pool or if thirsty, sit down to relax at the bar.  You can dine in or take a stroll down the road to other restaurants.

Monday August 17th:
8am sharp, leave for the Hilton Hotel in preparation for day one of Hot Rod Week.  I have been to Hot Rod week before and attended the Pleasanton event the last three years.  You will get to visit and see things you would never normally find.  Approx 250 cars travel each day.

Below is the Itinerary of places we will be visiting from Monday through to Thursday:

Monday 17th - East Bay

Tuesday 18th - North Bay

1. USA World CLassic Automobiles & Titanic Artifacts

4. Willis Johnson's car collection

Wednesday 19th - South Bay

1. Brizio's Street Rods

2. Sanderson Headers

3. John Mozarts car collection

4. Campbell Auto Restoration & High Performance Centre

  

Thursday 20th - Livermore/Danville

1. 'Attitude Aviation' Livermore Airport

2. Blackhawk Museum

3. Goodguys Kick off Party Sheraton Hotel

Return to Hotel approx 4.30-5.00pm.

This will be the case each day up until Thursday evening.

For the ladies who do not want to do every day of the tour, we have options such as the ‘Mall’ (sorry guys, just give the card and don’t worry) or down town Pleasanton.  This service is provided by the Hotel for us.  Another option if there is enough interested, at an additional cost, is to take a day tour to Napa Valley Wineries.
Thursday afternoon we should arrive back around 3.00pm.

We can transport you over to the Sheraton where hundreds of cars are coming and going from registration.

Note: Sunday through to Friday nights is at your leisure. 

Friday 21st August:
From 8.00am we will run groups of 14 in a mini van down to the Alameda Fair Grounds.  Today you will see over 3500 cars! There is also a swap meet and hundreds of vendors.  The Fair grounds are great, with plenty of shaded areas, tonnes of food outlets and a bloody good bar.

For those ladies that don’t want to do the whole day I can arrange transport back to the Hotel during the day at set times.
Friday 6.00pm: Return to the Hotel.

Saturday 22nd August:
8.30am - Commence taking people to the Fair Grounds.  Again we can arrange to bring people back early.
5.00pm:  Transport back to the Hotel.

Tonight you can stay in or get a taxi or Hotel Shuttle to down town Pleasanton and take your pick of one of many restaurants to have dinner.

There is a great Western Wear store which will arrange to stay open just for us.

Sunday 23rd August:
9.00-9.300am:  We check out of the Hotel and depart at 10.00am for a day trip into San Francisco.  Here you will get to go over the famous Golden Gate Bridge.  We will stop at the visitor centre and you can take a stroll onto the bridge.  From here we will go down to Fisherman’s Wharf which is the tourist centre.  Take a wander round at the sights of the amazing city.  We will meet up later that day approx 4.00pm to head to San Francisco airport.
From here you can either fly back to NZ or extend your travel.  If enough wish to go to Las Vegas I will escort you to this city that never sleeps, an interesting place to visit.

We have had requests from some wishing to go off and do other activities which our travel people will arrange for you.

Cost per person based on twin share room is $4746.78 NZD.

This includes
• Air Fare
• Departure tax – Auckland, San Francisco, Auckland
• Seven nights accommodation at four points Sheraton Hotel with full buffet breakfast, tips and taxes included.
• All ground transport during the week and entry tickets to the Fair Ground each day. 

Lunch/Dinner and refreshments is each person’s responsibility.

We can arrange travel insurance on a group rate but cannot price until we know how long each person wishes to travel.

The price is based on an exchange rate of $0.50, therefore we need to pay for the Hotel in June along with ground transport costs.  If the dollar is stronger than $0.50 the price will be less or covertly more if it drops below $0.50.  The price assumes we have a minimum number of 60 people on the tour. 

If you want to be confirmed on the tour, please advise as soon as possible so we can invoice you for a deposit to ensure the AKL-USA-AKL airfare cost remains unchanged.

Note:  Airfare is economy based and options are available for Business or Premier Economy.
